C h u r c h t e x t i l e s
I design liturgical church textiles for both new and old churches. This design work is a challenging and fascinating process: church textiles should be timeless, yet at the same time new, engaging and visually impressive. Liturgical church textiles play a central role in church spaces. The nuances of their colours change the mood within the church according to the different times of the church year. The rich symbolism of the different colours supports the church service and represents an inexhaustible inspiration for designers.
Traditional church textiles consist of altar cloths,
pulpit cloths, chasubles and chalice cloths in the
four colours of the liturgy. New commissions also include large textile artworks that are hung on the church walls and changed regularly. Creating these textiles is made possible through close collaboration with professional weavers and sewers. |
